FLASHBACK: Kilkenny family proud as punch as popular GAA player completes army training

Kilkenny Live Flashback (February) - It was yet another proud day for the Scanlon family , as Ryan completed his training in James Stephens Barracks.

Ryan, a former student in St Kieran's College is a long-standing and respected member of the James Stephens GAA Club and has featured heavily for club teams across various grades since an early age.

It's been a long and worthwhile journey for many of the barracks' newest soldiers who after completing their initial training, continued with eight weeks of further training.

The Scanlon family have 'soldiered' with the club for many years with his dad Tony a committed volunteer & coach, while relations Luke, Zac and more continue to ply their trade on the hurling fields.
