33 new bedrooms planned for nursing home in Kilkenny
Benkai Consulting Limited have submitted plans to Kilkenny County Council seeking to further develop SignaCare Nursing Home in Ferrybank, County Kilkenny.
The planned development includes the construction of a three-storey extension to the nursing home with 11 new bedrooms on each floor.
The extension will take the form of a new western wing, creating a U-shaped building set around an amenity courtyard.
There will be a loss of six existing bedrooms to facilitate access to the extension, resulting in a net addition of 27 bedrooms (including three double bedrooms).
The overall extended nursing home will accommodate 82 bedrooms and 86 bedspaces.
The development includes all ancillary site works and services.
A decision is due from Kilkenny County Council on the plans by February 18, 2023.
