A car driving through South Kilkenny was clocked at a speed of 133kph in a 100kph zone - on National Slow Down Day just before Christmas!

During the 24 hour period of National Slow Down Day GoSafe checked the speed of 225,685 vehicles and detected 592 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.

One of the detections on the day was a vehicle being driven at 133kph in a 100kph Zone on the N24 Belline (or Rogerstown), Piltown.

An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
