Kilkenny People Sport will be your home of the local club championships

Lisdowney are determined to use the disappointment of relegation last season as fuel for another push towards intermediate hurling championship success, with Richie McEvoy insisting the squad is motivated to "write the wrongs" of last year. (WATCH VIDEO BELOW)

“Obviously things didn’t go our way last year, we kind of let ourselves down,” the Lisdowney defender told Kilkenny People Sport.

“It’s time to turn that negative into a positive and kind of pull from the hurt of last year and throw it back into the matches and training this year.

“Things have been going well, training well and there’s the motivation there to write the wrongs of last year,” the Lisdowney man explained.

Lisdowney are no strangers to winning the intermediate championship, winning the crown in 2020 and 2024, with that experience a great aid going into this season according to McEvoy.

“For some of the players on the team they already have two intermediate titles to their name and to be going for a third might be something special, I’m not too sure if many have it in the county.

“We’ve learned lessons from two years ago, how hard the grade is,” he commented, adding, “you have to be on the ball every single day, otherwise you’re going to be caught out.”
