The committee for Relay for Life Kilkenny hosted a special evening of celebration and commemoration recently.
The cheque presentation event was dedicated to Vicky Phelan. Vicky selflessly agreed to be the ambassador for Relay for Life Kilkenny 2022 despite the insurmountable challenges she faced. In Vicky’s name, chairperson Patsie Cummins presented a cheque for €24,241 to the Irish Cancer Society. All money raised goes towards services in Kilkenny City and county.
Relay for Life Kilkenny enjoyed its tenth year in 2022 and a return to action after a two year hiatus. Patsie expressed her gratitude to each and every person that contributed to the total raised. From all the local businesses in Kilkenny to the teams who selflessly fundraised all year round, to ensure that vital services are funded for those in need of support and care.
The dates for Relay for Life Kilkenny 2023 are already confirmed for July 1 and 2 in Kilkenny Rugby Club with a new start time of 1pm. The committee is already taking registrations for teams. If you want to register your team or have any questions on what’s involved you can email rflkilkenny@gmail.com and a committee member will give you a call.
