WATCH: Interview with Adam King as he gives Kilkenny a Big Hug

at the unveiling of the Virtual Hug structure on Kilkenny Day

Adam King, the kid who created his hug, to be able to give people a hug, when we couldn't give a hug. His virtual hug became a symbol of connection during the pandemic, and a reminder of our resilience during dark times, not just in Ireland, but across the world.

The hug has travelled the world, it has been received by President Michael D Higgins, President Biden and even flown to outer space - everyone has been touched by Adam King's virtual hug.

The new sculpture of Adam King's 'Big Hug' was unveiled in Kilkenny yesterday with Paralympian Mary Fitzgerald on hand to help with the honours, as part of Kilkenny Day celebrations. 

Kilkenny People's Siobhan Donohoe was there to interview young Adam King from Cork.
