WATCH: Scenes of delight as Fine Gael's John Brennan elected to fourth seat in Castlecomer LEA

Just two seats left to fill in the LEA

Another candidate has been elected in the Castlecomer Electoral Area - Fine Gael's John Brennan. He picked up enough of Mary Hilda Cavanagh's surplus to make the quota of 1,506.

Cllr Brennan is the fourth to be elected in the six-seater LEA, after Michael McCarthy earlier on this evening. His surplus of 172 is now being distributed.

The race for the last two seats is on: Count 3 saw Independent Maurice Shortall get 24 and he is now on 1,308. Sinn Fein's Denis Hynes picked up 19 and is on 1,101. The other strong contender for a seat, FF's Michael Delaney, got 112 and is now on 1,266.

This one could come down to the wire...
