Christopher (Chris) Cass

The death has occurred of Christopher (Chris) Cass, Newtown, Bonnettstown, and late of Tullaroan, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on Sunday,  September 21, 2025. Pre-deceased by his parents Philip and Nora Mary Cass, Huntstown, Tullaroan and his brothers Philip, Ned and Jeremiah. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers Larry, Dom, Jim and Dick, sisters Doreen and Seraphine Morton (USA), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, niece Jane, nephews Christopher, Oliver, Philip, Anthony, Martin, Stephen, Liam Morton (UK) and Gilbert Morton (USA), grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral arriving to St. Canice’s Catholic Church, Kilkenny (Eircode R95 V440) on Friday, September 26, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Tullaroan Cemetery, Kilkenny. Brigid Collins (née Nolan)

The death has occurred of Brigid Collins (née Nolan), Stripe, Furbo, Co. Galway and formerly of Dungarvan, Gowran, Co. Kilkenny, peacefully on September 22, 2025. Pre-deceased by her sister Chris (Dunphy) and her brothers Johnny and Jim. Beloved wife of Fergie and dearly loved mother of Catherine, Jennifer, Claire, Eamon, Fergus and Declan. Brigid will be deeply missed and always remembered by her loving family, her grandchildren Chelsea, Robert, Nathan, Bruce, Alex, Meadhbh, Julia and Peter, great granddaughter Avery, daughters-in-law Sara and Corrine, partners Ales and Liv, sister Kit, brothers Patsy, Christy and Andy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in the Cillín within The Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna on Thursday, September 25, from 5pm until 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, September 26, at 12noon in Realt na Mara Church, Furbo. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. James (Jim) Forristal

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Forristal, Shanbough, Rosbercon, Kilkenny / Wexford, on September 24, 2025. Jim, passed away peacefully in the care of his family. Beloved husband of Elisabeth (née Woulfe), father of Patrick, Teresa, James and John. Deeply regretted by his loving family, daughters-in-law Tamara, Hanri and Katie, son-in-law Denis, eight grandchildren, brother Bobby, sisters Mary Devereux, Bríd Boyle, Peggy O' Sullivan & Patricia O' Shea, sisters-in-law Johanna Hyland and  Mary Frances O'Shea, brothers-in-law Tom, John Michael and the late Austin, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Doyle's Funeral Home The Old Rectory, Rosbercon, New Ross from 3.30pm on Friday, September 26, with removal at 7pm to St. Brigid's Church Terrerath. Requiem Mass will take place at 12noon on Saturday, September 27, followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery. Family Flowers only. House private please. The Forristal Family would like express their gratitude to doctors, nurses, care staff and Chaplins at The Haematology Unit at U.H.W.

 

Gerard (Ger) McEvoy

The death has occurred of Gerard (Ger) McEvoy, Springfields, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and formerly Dunmore, Co Kilkenny. Ger passed away peacefully at Waterford University Hospital on Tuesday evening surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Carmel and loving father of Anne and Rose he will be sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, brothers Danny, Seamus and Pat, sisters Mary, Peggy, Anne, Bee and Kitty, his precious grandchildren Vera, Annie, Bonnie and Robin, son-in-law Brian, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Condons Funeral Parlour, Clonmel on Friday from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday to Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church. Funeral Mass on arrival at 1pm followed by burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery. https://www.churchservices.tv/clonmelpeterpaul

Gwen O'Dwyer

The death has occurred of Gwen O'Dwyer (née Blackmore) late of Ballinacronney, Owning, Piltown, Co Kilkenny, died  September 23, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her parents, son John, sister Moira, deeply regretted by her beloved Husband Noel, Sons Niall, Kevin, Stephen and Daughters Yvonne, Martina, Sharon, Josephine, Sandra, Amanda, Brothers Harry, Mansel, Sisters May, Phyllis, Olive and Geraldine. Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law, Sons-in-law, Daughters-in-law, Grandchildren, Great grand children, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends

Gwen will be reposing at her home E32YE62 on Friday, September 26, from 4pm to 8pm, Gwen will be arriving at church of the Assumption, Owning on Saturday, September 27, for requiem mass on arrival at 11am following by burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Owning. Family flowers only please. House private outside of these times please

Jack Norris

The death has occurred of Jack Norris, Greywood Road, Ballyhale and late of Danesrath, Knocktopher, Co Kilkenny. Jack (formerly of The Department of Finance) passed away peacefully in the care of his family on September 22, 2025. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers Ned and Fr Tom, sister-in-law Mary, nieces Alma and Mary, nephews John and Edward, grandnieces and grandnephews, work colleagues in The Department of Finance, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in The Mercy Side Chapel, Church of The Assumption, Thomastown from 5pm on Thursday, September 25, concluding with prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass will take place at 12 noon on Friday, September 26, in the main chapel at The Church of The Assumption, Thomastown, followed by burial in St. Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown.
