Rory Best completed his charity challenge in Kilkenny with the support of the Defence Forces, raising funds for Cancer Fund for Children
Irish rugby legend Rory Best was in Kilkenny last week as part of a charitable initiative.
Members of the 3rd Infantry Battalion, based at James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny, came out in force to support him. Members of the Defence Forces marched through Kilkenny’s roads and streets alongside the former Ireland captain, as part of his charity challenge, called ‘Rory’s Miles To Mayo’, in support of Cancer Fund for Children.

Also there to support him were members of Kilkenny RFC and fellow Ireland great Mick Galwey.
Cancer Fund for Children is an all-island charity that provides emotional, social and therapeutic support to children, young people and families impacted by cancer, including in Carlow and Kilkenny.

Rory’s Miles 2 Mayo ─ the Trilogy is the final part of a series of three physical fundraising challenges led by Rory Best for Cancer Fund for Children, which have raised over €2.5 million to date.
The challenge finishes on Sunday, September 20 in Cong, Mayo.
