Could a Kilkenny artist be the next Texaco Children's Art Competition winner?

Entries now open for 70th year of competition

Texaco Children's Art Competition

The search to find the young artists who will excel in this year’s Texaco Children’s Art Competition has begun. Now in its 70th year, it is widely acknowledged as the longest running arts sponsorship in Ireland.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 28th February. Judging will take place in March with winners to be announced in April.

Last year fifteen-year-old Cormac Roche, from St Patrick’s Special School in Kilkenny, won a Special Merit Award for his artwork entitled ‘Eye Of The Storm’, which Final Adjudicator Professor Gary Granville said ‘was imaginative and displayed high levels of creativity’.
