Ella Clark will hold the workshop on March 9
A leading dance and movement practitioner will host a workshop at the Barnstorm Theatre Studio in Kilkenny on March 9.
Ella Clark was nominated for an Irish Times Theatre award for her work with Barnstorm. A classically trained dancer, choreographer, lecturer, and academic researcher Ella works in the fields of contemporary dance, and movement direction and training for actors. As a graduate of the Perm State Choreographic Institute, Russia, she has performed and choreographed internationally in classical, contemporary and post-modernist genres for theatre, opera, film and dance.
Ella’s workshop will focus on removing physical resistance from the body and learning to move with ease and dexterity, both as an individual and in an ensemble setting.
“We will work on material from ‘Riot Choreography’, a system developed over decades of work with actors and theatre companies, as a means to safely organise chaotic, spontaneous and atmospherically charged events in a live-action setting, by structured and gentle means through development of a series of contact based skills exchanged between performers, but independently expanded on by each,” she said.
The fee is €75. For more email philip@barnstorm.ie
