Dog fouling is a scourge across the county
Dog fouling is an “absolute scourge” says one local councillor.
Cllr Deirdre Cullen was responding to a report that complaints to Kilkenny County Council about dog fouling were down.
Putting it down to the dark, winter evenings, Cllr Cullen predicted there would be more reports as people are getting out and about again in the bright evenings.
“Despite all the campaigns regarding dog fouling it’s still endemic in communities,” Cllr Cullen said. “It’s awful for buggies and for kids walking.”
Director of Services Mary Mulholland urged the public to ‘find their voice’ and call it out, and say it just has to stop.
The matter was discussed along with other environmental issues at this week’s meeting of Callan Thomastown Municipal District councillors.
