Amazing Kilkenny cyclists to begin American coast-to-coast race

Kilkenny Race Across America

Team Aspect - cyclists and support crew - ready for the start of Race Across America!

Four amazing cyclists, and their dedicated Kilkenny support crew, will start their Race Across America challenge tomorrow (Saturday).

The hardest challenge in cycling, the four cyclists set off from California on Saturday evening and then it's a non-stop, 24/7 race until they reach Maryland, on the east coast. A route of 5,000km with at least one cyclist on the road at all times.

Pat Maher, Cathal Phillips, Seamus Nash and John Dowd, have put months of serious training into this challenge and are going all out to win.

Over the past year they have not only had a strict training regime and nutrition plan, they have taken part in altitude training and hot weather training by cycling in a steam room!

The Castlecomer men and support crew are Team Aspect and will be hoping to raise funds along the way for the Aspect Centre of SOS Kilkenny. To donate click here.

Take Note: Team Aspect launch their challenge on Saturday, June 15, at 8.22pm Irish time. Team Aspect's number is T412 and you can follow their progress live on this site click here.
