Kilkenny volunteers serve up meals for the community on Christmas Day

Over 100 meals were delivered to those in need across Kilkenny on Christmas Day, as members of the Defence Forces, the Lions Club and 30 other volunteers teamed up for the admirable cause.

Voluntary Co-Ordinator Joe Malone thanked everybody involved from James Stephens Barracks including Sargeant John Sheridan and Lieutenant Colonel Rob Kearney who were heavily involved in the initiative and many more Lions Club fundraisers over the past month.

Also in attendance were Fianna Fáil councillor and Mayor of Kilkenny, Andrew McGuinness, Lions Club President Gerry McGovern and Philip Tierney.
