Driver in Kilkenny arrested after failing roadside drugs test

On Sunday morning, local roads policing unit members performed a mandatory intoxicant testing checkpoint in Kilkenny.

At this checkpoint, motorists are tested for both alcohol and drugs.

The driver of the blue car (pictured above) failed a roadside drugs test, showing positive for cannabis.

He was arrested and a further sample taken at the Garda Station.

His vehicle was also seized for separate reasons.

"No one can tell you how long it takes for drugs to leave your system," a garda spokesperson said.
