Gardaí from Thomastown Road's Policing Unit stopped a vehicle on the M9 yesterday for exceeding the speed limit.

The driver was recorded travelling at a speed of 154km/h, 34km/hr over the 120km/hr limit.

Gardaí then discovered that the driver of the vehicle was an unaccompanied learner permit holder who had no insurance.

The vehicle was promptly seized with prosecution to follow.

The message from local gardaí is, "Dont take the chance! #SaferRoads".
