As a mark of respect, Kilkenny's Butler Gallery will be closed on Wednesday, June 14th, the day of renowned artist Jane O'Malley's funeral.

Jane, who lived in Physicianstown, Callan, was married to local artist Tony O'Malley and was herself an outstanding artist. Originally from Canada, she had also lived in St. Ives, Cornwall.

Jane's work can be seen in Butler Gallery's O'Malley galleries, named after both Jane and her late husband, artist Tony O'Malley, whose legacy she tirelessly worked to preserve since his death in 2003.

A gentle, warm and charismatic person with a great sense of humour, Jane was always a joy to be with. She was a great supporter of Butler Gallery and those at the gallery will miss her hugely.

As a mark of respect, Butler Gallery will be closed on Wednesday, June 14, the day of Jane's funeral.

Jane passed away peacefully in the exceptional care of Staff at Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny, on Saturday, June 3. She will be greatly missed by her brother Chris, her sister-in-law Rita, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
