Mooncoin Celtic AFC also paid tribute to the 21-year-old from Ballinearla, Kilmacow, Kilkenny and said: "With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, our sporting community mourns the untimely departure of one of our cherished athletes, Kate Corcoran, who, at the tender age of 21, departed from our midst.

"Her passing leaves a void within our team, our hearts, and the broader community, as we bid farewell to a promising talent and a spirited soul.

"Kate’s journey with our ladies’ team was brief but impactful.

"She joined us just last year, displaying an unparalleled commitment and passion for the sport, eager to refine her skills under the dimly lit training grounds of Ashgrove.

"Her dedication and enthusiasm were palpable, illuminating the path as we prepared for our inaugural season in the Waterford league.

"Though her time with us was short, Kate’s impact was profound. Her spirit, determination, and unwavering dedication to the game served as an inspiration to her teammates and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence on the field radiated with potential and a relentless drive to excel.

"Beyond her athletic prowess, Kate embodied resilience and perseverance. She tackled challenges with grace, always striving to improve and contribute positively to the team.

"Her positive energy and infectious enthusiasm uplifted spirits during training sessions and matches, leaving an indelible mark on the collective spirit of our team.

"The news of Kate’s passing reverberates through our community, leaving us grappling with the profound loss of a young talent whose future seemed boundless.

"Her absence will be keenly felt, not only on the field but within the hearts of those who shared in her aspirations and dreams.

"As we gather to mourn the loss of a fellow athlete, friend, and spirited teammate, let us also celebrate Kate’s vibrant spirit, her dedication to the sport, and the lasting impressions she left upon us.

"Let her memory serve as a reminder of the passion and vigor she brought to every aspect of her life.

"In honoring Kate Corcoran, let us continue to nurture the same passion, determination, and camaraderie she exemplified. As we navigate this period of grief, may her legacy inspire us to cherish every moment, pursue our dreams relentlessly, and support each other as a tightly-knit sporting family.

"Though Kate may have departed from this earthly realm too soon, her spirit and the impact she made will endure within our team and the hearts of those she touched. Rest in peace, dear Kate, knowing that your passion for the game and your vibrant spirit will forever remain an integral part of our sporting community."
