Kilkenny Deaths - Thursday, December 7, 2023

The death has occurred of Lewis Griffith
Seskin Road, Leighlinbridge, Carlow, R93TW31 / Johnswell, Kilkenny
formerly of Ossory Hill, Johnswell, Co. Kilkenny and Manchester, UK.

Lewis passed away on 5th December 2023, peacefully, at St. Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Phoebe, brother Jimmy and sisters Euphemia, Harriet and Frances. Lewis will be sadly missed by his siblings Marie, Ernie, Florrie, Charlotte, John and Evelyn, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and his many friends.

At Rest

Reposing at his home in Leighlinbridge (R93TW31) on Thursday (7th Dec) from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Service on Friday afternoon at 2pm in Mothel Church, Coolcullen (R93W253). Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

The death has occurred of Margaret (Peggy) McCarthy (née Clancy)
Arderin Way, Dillons Cross, Cork / Cuffesgrange, Kilkenny

On December 4th 2023, peacefully, in the presence of her loving family in Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, Margaret (Peggy) (née Clancy), beloved wife of the late George, loving mother of Mary, Denis, Trish, Claire and the late baby George and Seamus (Sham), cherished grandmother of Keith, Michelle, Derek, Vicki, Jason and Gillian, great-grandmother of Tamara and Jasmin.

Deeply regretted by her family, sons-in-law Jerry and Maurice, daughters-in-law Mary and Carmel, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Mayfield Funeral Home, Old Youghal Road of Jerh.O’Connor Ltd.; On Thursday (December 7th) from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.

Requiem Mass at 10.00am on Friday (December 8th) in St. Brendan’s Church, The Glen.

Funeral afterwards to St. Mary's Cemetery, Curraghkippane.

The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) Fitzpatrick
Clonmore, Piltown, Kilkenny / Mooncoin, Kilkenny

Formerly of Ballygowan, Piltown. Mick passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, at University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by his brothers Dick and Pat and sister Maureen. Sadly missed by his loving wife Ellen, sons Colin, Michael and Kevin, daughter Imelda, brother Eamonn, sisters Kathleen, Delia, Peggy and Alice, daughters-in-law, Siobhán and Debbie and son-in-law John, grandchildren Aoife, Lorcan and Cian, his life long friend Hugh, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Reposing on Friday at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home Grannagh, Kilmacow from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Arriving on Saturday at Kilnaspic Church (via his residence) for Requiem Mass at 11:00am. Ballagh Errill, Co. Laois and formerly Kilfinane, Co. Limerick. Peacefully, after illness bravely borne with dignity and great humour. Predeceased by his wife Cathy. Sadly mourned by his loving partner Edwina and all her family, his daughters Claire and Kathy, son John, son in law Ian, daughter in law Thipyartat, grandson Jack, brothers Robert and Stephen, sister Claire, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Gathering of friends and acquaintances at the home of his partner Edwina Farrell, Clontubrid, Freshford, Co. Kilkenny R95HP49 on Friday, 8th December, from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.

A celebration of Michael's life will take place in Holy Trinity Church, Durrow, on Saturday, 9th of December, at 9.30am, followed by removal to Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin, for a further celebration service at 1.00pm followed by cremation.
