Much-loved Kilkenny broadcaster, Mike O'Brien has passed away.
Mr O'Brien has been a popular, trust-worthy and at times comforting voice for local listeners for over four decades, hosting a wide range of programmes on KCR, Radio Kilkenny and Community Radio Kilkenny City (CRKC).
In latter years, the Kilkenny man presented 'Live at Lunchtime' each Friday until a recent period of ill-health, where station colleague Con Moloney entertained his predecessor's many listeners.

Mr O'Brien's outstanding service to local radio was recognised with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ presented by CRKC in November 2022.

The widely acclaimed broadcaster was a founding member of Kilkenny Community Communications Co-op Society (KCCCS) Ltd, the co-op that now runs CRKC.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: Reposing at his home from 5pm on Monday, February 10 concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am, in St. Canice's Church followed by interment in St Kieran's Cemetery.
