Ann Quinn (née Johnson)

The death has occurred of Ann Quinn (née Johnson), The Rectory, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband and brother Sean. Ann will be sadly missed by her daughters, Cyrelene and Marion, sons-in-law John and Gerard, grandchildren Aisha, Mikaal, Hivert and Anna Jean, sisters Mary and Margie.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Friday, January 16, from 5pm. concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Cortège will arrive at the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown on Saturday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Ann will be laid to rest thereafter in St. Mary's Cemetery, Thomastown. Jack Magner

The death has occurred of Jack Magner, Oak Road, Dukesmeadows, Kilkenny. Jack, in his 94th year, passed away on January 13, 2026, peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by his loving son Seán. Beloved husband of Máire and much loved father of Owen, Jim, Des and Fiona. Jack will be dearly missed by his loving family, son-in-law Peter, daughters-in-law Sandra, Ira, Katya and Tora, grandchildren Cian, Fionn, Dara, Alan, Nadia, Riona and Aileen, brothers-in-law Michael (Phelan) and Des Curley and his wife Margaret, sister-in-law Dympna and her husband Seán (Wilson), nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, extended family, kind neighbours and his many friends. Jack is also predeceased by his brother Willie, sisters Millie (Murphy), Hannah (Byrne) and Rose (Phelan). The family would like to thank in a special way Jack's carers and the staff of the Nore Ward at St. Luke's Hospital for the kindness and care shown to Jack.

Reposing at his son Jim's home, Kilcreene Lodge, Kilkenny (R95VKA4) on Thursday, January 15, from 4pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6.30pm. (If attending please use Waterbarrack entrance). Removal on Friday morning to St. Mary's Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here REQUIEM MASS

Larry Hoban

The death has occurred of Larry (Lar) Hoban, Neville Street, New Ross, formerly Inistioge/ Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Predeceased by his parents and sister Geraldine. Loving husband of Anne and father of Marc and Kyle. Lar will be sadly missed by his wife and sons, his adored grandchildren Olivia and Tadhg, sisters Margaret and Mary, Kyle’s partner Dani and her son Gavin, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

William ( Bill) Fitzgerald

The death has occurred of William (Bill) Fitzgerald, London, U.K. and formerly Killenaule, Co. Tipperary. Bill passed away suddenly on November 29, 2025. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken wife Ann (née Beehan) Urlingford, his adored son Philip, daughter-in-law Rhea, cherished grandchildren Eloise and Rose, nieces, nephews, the extended Beehan and Fitzgerald families, relatives and a wide circle of friends both in the U.K and Ireland.

Reposing at Doyle's Funeral Home, Urlingford (Eircode E41 XO38) on Thursday, January 15, from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to the Church of the Assumption, Urlingford arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Mary Dunne (née Keating)

The death has occurred of Mary Dunne (née Keating), Bracklin, Kilbeggan, Westmeath / Tullamore, Offaly / formerly of Crutt, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. Predeceased by her husband John-Joe, her daughter-in-law, Anna, parents, Andrew and Sarah, brothers, John, Michael, Vincent and Billy, sister, Margaret. Mary passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of Bethany House Nursing Home, Tyrrellspass. Mary will be forever missed by her loving sons, Eugene, Brendan, Kevin, Ray and John, her brothers, Ritchie, Tommy, Martin, Gerard and Eugene, her sisters, Carmel, Breda, Catherine, Betty, Annette and Aggie, daughters-in-law, her eleven adoring grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Friday, January 16 –Mary will repose at her son, Ray’s residence in Bracklin, (N91 P984) from 3pm until rosary at 8 pm. Saturday, January 17 – Mary’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi & Brigid Church, Ballycommon at 11am with burial to follow in the adjoining graveyardHouse private at all other times.

 

James (Jimmy) Doyle

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Doyle, The Spike, Donaguile, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, resident of Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny.  Jimmy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Thursday, January 15, from 5pm, concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Cortège will arrive to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castlecomer on Friday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Jimmy will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery. Requiem Mass can be viewed HERE House private please. In lieu of flowers, donations if desired to Castlecomer Day Care Centre. A donation box will be available in the church.

Kyle Andrew Comerford

The death has occurred of Kyle Andrew Comerford, The Willows, Roseleigh, Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny, and formerly of Newtown Terrace, Thomastown. Kyle passed away on January 7, 2026 at Al-Zahra Hospital, Dubai, after a short illness. Beloved husband of Eva (née Richardson). Kyle will be deeply missed by his heartbroken wife, parents Paul and Martina, sister Shania, parents-in-law John and Helen, uncles, aunts, many cousins, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, January 16, from 4pm to 6pm. A private Cremation Service will take place on Saturday.

Martin (Murt) Brennan

The death has occurred of Martin (Murt) Brennan, Melville Heights, Kilkenny, and formerly of Tallent's Lane, Sheastown, Kilkenny. Murt passed away on January 14,  2026, peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff at Drakelands House Nursing Home. Beloved husband of Joan and much loved father of Margaret (Mags) Bowen, Joan Brennan McCord, Eddie, Richie and Murty. Murt will be dearly missed by his loving family, brother Pat and his wife Ann, sons-in-law Richie and Ian, daughters-in-law Anna, Jenny and Claire, grandchildren Jessie, Alec, Harry, Anna, Jack, Realtín and Ethan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Thursday, January 15, from 5pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon in St. Joseph's Church, Foulkstown. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland DONATE

Kay Kennedy (née Hennessy)

The death has occurred of Kay Kennedy (née Hennessy), Monaree, Nenagh, Co.Tipperary and formerly of Graine, Urlingford, Co.Kilkenny, (RGN), peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff of Nenagh Hospital – where she happily worked for most of her nursing career. Predeceased by her husband PJ and sisters Maura Brown and Juliana O’Kelly. Deeply regretted by her daughter Anne Marie, son-in-law Sean, grandchildren Roisin and Cara, brothers Sean and Michael, sisters Nonie Egan and Theresa Kennedy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, former colleagues and friends.

Reposing at Ryans Funeral Home, Nenagh this Friday from 5pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday in St. Mary’s of the Rosary Church, Nenagh at 11am. Livestream available in the link: https://nenaghparish.ie/ . Followed by burial in Lisboney new cemetery. House private please.
