Robert (Bob) McGarry

The death has occurred of Robery (Bob) McGarry, formerly of New Zealand, Troyswood, Kilkenny / Marino, Dublin. Bob passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyragget surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his mother Annette and father Thomas. Bob is survived by his six children Annette,Seán, Robert (Jnr), Patricia, Siobhán, Alice, grandchildren Shane, Aidan, Rory, Conor, Fionn, Lynn, Lucy, Heather, Charlie, Jean, and his two great grandchildren, daughters-in-law Maria and Sheelagh and sons-in-law Patrick and Paddy and extended family in Dublin, neighbours and friends. Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral arriving on Monday, March 2, to St. Canice's Church for Requiem Mass at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in St. Kieran's Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home for the care and kindness shown to Bob during his time there. Family flowers only please. Josephine Hudson (née Hennessy)

The death has occurred of Josephine Hudson (née Hennessy), 'Stoneybrook', Cherrymount, Stoneyford, Kilkenny. Josephine died peacefully on Thursday,  February 26, at Gowran Abbey Nursing Home, Gowran, Co Kilkenny, following a long illness. Predeceased by her parents, brother Neilo, sisters: Maura and Garbo, beloved daughter Jacqueline, son John Jo, and son-in-law Dave. She will be missed by her sons: Neil and Danny, grandsons: Mathew, Thomas, Joseph and Stephen, daughters-in-law Pip and Lynn, her brother Bill and sisters: Carole, Kathleen and Patsy. There are numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends in Ireland and England who will miss her especially her good neighbour: Pat Nolan and the members of Stoneyford Active Retirement Group.

Reposing in the Mercy Side Chapel of the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown (R95 YP97) from 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday,  March 3,with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass in St Brendan's Church, Stoneyford on Wednesday, March 4, at 11am followed b Cremation Service at 2.30pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin D24 K257. House private please. Family flowers only but donations can be made to the Irish Cancer Society in memory of her two children and sisters.

Elizabeth (Betty) O’Toole (née Leahy)

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Betty) O'Toole (née Leahy), Ullid, Kilmacow, Kilkenny / Tournafulla, Limerick. On February 28, 2026, after a short illness, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff at University Hospital Waterford, South East Palliative Care Centre. Pre-deceased by her parents John Joe and Bridie Leahy and nephew John Cussen. Betty will be sadly missed by her loving husband Liam, beloved daughter Leisha and partner Clint, son William and daughter-in-law Sarah. devoted sister Maura and brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Carmel and husband Tommy. Much loved nephew Mike, nieces-in-law Ann Marie and Elaine, cherished grandchildren Sonny and Rory, godchildren Justin and Elaine, grand nieces, grand nephew, cousins especially Nuala, relatives, her very many friends and kind neighbours.

Reposing on Monday at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow (X91 C962) from 4pm until 7pm. Arriving on Tuesday at St. Senan’s Church Kilmacow for Requiem Mass at 11am. James B. (Seamus) Delahunty

The death has occurred of James B. (Seamus) Delahunty, Chicago, USA, and formerly of The Parade, North Circular Road, Dublin and Freshford, Co. Kilkenny. Proud member of Local 399. U. S. Army Veteran – February 27, 2026 (peacefully) at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Patricia, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth and brother of the late Kathleen. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Yvonne (Padraig) Daly, son Joe, daughter-in-law Christine and his cherished grandchildren; Aisling, Aidan, Meghan, Declan and Kelsey who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother Eamon and sisters Eilish, Moira, along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, March 2, in St. Paul of the Cross Church, Chicago, USA arriving for 10am (4pm in Ireland) Mass followed by burial to All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hines VA would be appreciated.

Patrick (Paddy) Fitzgerald

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Fitzgerald, Freneystown, Clifden, Co. Kilkenny. Paddy passed away peacefully on the February 28, 2026 surrounded by his loving family, in the care of the South East Palliative Care Unit. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary and his brother Jim. Paddy is so deeply missed and remembered with huge love by his loving wife Kathleen, sons Michael and T.J, daughters Mary, Agnes, Mairéad and Cathriona. Paddy will be sadly missed by his sister Margaret, adored granddaughters Katie, Emily, Ónagh, Isabelle, Hannah, Ruth, Laura, Mia, Gia and Mila, daughter-in law Mary, sons-in-law Paul, Seán and Ray, sister-in- law Peggy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home (R95TX46) on Tuesday, March 3, from 2pm pausing for prayers at 6pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to St Scuithin’s Church, Castlewarren (R95 NX37) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private on Wednesday morning please.

Frank (Franko) Cleere

The death has occurred of Frank (Franko) Cleere, Listrolin, Mullinavat, and formerly of Kileen, Kilmanagh, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Sunday, March 1, 2026, aged 86 years. Peacefully, in the tender care of his loving family at University Hospital Waterford, predeceased by his wife Bridget (Biddy nee Walsh), grandson Mark, brother-in-law Tommy (Toss), brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Frank deeply regretted and will be so sadly missed by his sons Mick, Frankey and Tommy, daughters Moll, Bid and Katie, sons-in-law Andy, Dermot and Marty, daughters-in-law Catherine, Karen and Elaine, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Anthony, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

Frank will be reposing in Power's Funeral Home, Ferrybank, on Monday, March 2, from 5pm to 7.30pm, Frank's removal will take place on Tuesday, March 3, to St. Beacon's Church, Mullinavat, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am, after which Frank will be laid to rest in Kilnaspic cemetery. MASS LINK
