Bridget Comerford (née Brennan)

The death has occurred of  Bridget Comerford (née Brennan), Comerford, Clorinka, Ballyfoyle, Co. Kilkenny, formerly Revanagh, Castlewarren, Co. Kilkenny, March 22, 2026. Bridget peacefully in the care of the matron and staff of St Anne’s Ward, St Columba’s, Hospital, Thomastown. Predeceased by her husband Tom and daughter Rose. Deeply regretted by her, daughters Lily, Ann, Bridget, Mary, Bernadette and Claire, Sons Bob, Michael, Thomas, Christy, Dan, Brian, and Dermot, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,

Reposing at Moran Funeral Home, Castlecomer R95PD82 from 3.30pm Tuesday with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral prayers at 11am on Wednesday at her residence followed by removal to St Brendan’s Church, Muckalee for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.Interment will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Norah (Noeleen) Kelly

The death has occurred of Norah (Noeleen) Kelly, 3, Bohernatounish Road, Kilkenny, March 22, 2026 (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by her mother Elizabeth, brother Edward and infant brother Denis. Beloved mother of John and Caroline. Norah will be deeply missed by her son, daughter, grandsons especially Syd, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home on Tuesday, March 24, from 4pm concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 10am. in St. Fiacre's Church, Loughboy, followed by interment in Foulkstown Cemetery. Norah's Requiem Mass will be live streamed  HERE

Maureen Scannell (née Gannon)

The death has occurred of Maureen Scannell (née Gannon), Ballyroe, Tralee and formerly Oakpark, Tralee and Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, died peacefully on March 20, 2026, following a short illness, in the exceptional care of the staff of the Cardiac unit at the Beacon Hospital, Dublin surrounded by her loving nieces. Beloved wife of the late Michael Scannell, predeceased by her parents Richard and Mary (née Scott), brothers Jim (died December 31, 2025), Michael, Richard and William, sisters Eleanor and Vera. Sadly missed by her loving family, sister-in-law Bernie, brother-in-law Johnny, her many nieces, nephews, extended family in Ireland, Australia and America, her friend Marian, her many neighbours and acquaintances.

Maureen will repose at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee, on Wednesday, March 25, from 3pm to 5pm. Funeral arriving to St. John’s Church, Tralee on Thursday at 9.30am. where the Requiem Mass for Maureen will be celebrated at 10am. (streamed on www.stjohns.ie). Interment afterwards in Old Rath Cemetery, Tralee.

 

Michael Talbot

The death has occurred of Michael Talbot, late of Gorey, Co. Wexford and formerly of Limerick City, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow and Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny. Died suddenly at home on March 21, 2026. Pre-deceased by his parents the late Dean Maurice Talbot and Elisabeth Talbot and brother John. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, Richenda, children Elisabeth and Bobby, brothers Peter and Philip, daughter-in-law Rachael, adoring grandsons Harry, Adam and Ethan, extended family and friends.

Funeral arriving to St. Patrick's Church, Powerscourt, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 for funeral service at 11am. followed by private cremation. Garden family flowers only please.

Marie Whelan

The death has occurred of Marie Whelan (née Butler), Barrowville House, St. Mullins, Co. Carlow and formerly of Dunmore Road, Co. Kilkenny. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy. Marie passed away peacefully at University Hospital Waterford, surrounded by her loving family. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Deborah, Siobhan, Fiona and Yvonne, sons Declan and James, brothers Dessy and Dermot, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Cooney's Funeral Home, New Ross, (eircode:Y34 FK44) on Wednesday, March 25, from 4pm concluding at 7pm. Removal on Thursday, March 26, to The Church of St. Moling, Glynn, (eircode: R95 HY49) arriving for her funeral mass at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Graignamanagh. House private please. Family flowers only please donations if desired to any charity of your choice. The Whelan family would like to extend our gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of University Hospital Waterford, for all the care and kindness given to their mother throughout her illness.
