The death has occurred of Murtagh Somers, Crettenclough, Coon, Kilkenny. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 27, 2026 at St. Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his parents, Murtagh and Mary, and his granddaughter Ellen. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, his children Paschal, Marie, Marty, Anthony and Mairead, his brothers Stephen and Bernard, his daughter-in-law Nicola and son-in-law Trevor, his adored grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, on Sunday, April 5, from 3pm, with prayers at 7pm, followed by removal to his home. House private please. Requiem Mass on Monday, April 6, at 11am in St. Brigid’s Church, Coon, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his brother Tom, his sister Teresa Rogers, his sister-in-law Julia, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of James O'Halloran, Kilcraggan, Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny. James passed away peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Mooncoin Residential Care Centre, just shy of his 94th birthday. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Margaret, his brothers Donal and Richard and his sister Breda. Sadly missed by his nieces Aileen and Sheila and their families in Scotland, his cousin Josephine and the wider Butler family, the Dermody family neighbours and his many friends.
James will be reposing on Tuesday, March 31, in Walsh's Funeral Home Carrick-on-Suir from 4pm followed by removal at 6pm to the Church of The Assumption, Mooncoin. Funeral mass at 11am on Wednesday, April 1. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. The death has occurred of Noreen Hurley (née Frawley), Aylesbury, Freshford Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Goslingstown and Abbey Street, Kilkenny and Limerick City. Noreen passed away unexpectedly on her birthday, March 29, 2026, in the Beacon Hospital. She will be terribly missed by her heartbroken husband Sean, daughters Martine, Karyn, Aisling, Cathy and Faye and her adored grandchildren Ralph, Evan, Morgan, Juliette, Carla, Arthur, Massey, Anna, Ed, Evie and Max. She will also be missed by her brothers Brian, Tom and Noel, sister Colette, sons-in-law, extended family, friends and neighbours. Noreen is predeceased by her parents John and Kathleen Frawley and grandchildren Robin and Jane.
Requiem Mass for Noreen will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, at 11am in St. Patrick's Church, Kilkenny. Funeral afterwards to Foulkstown Cemetery. House strictly private please.

Pre-deceased by her husband James, sister Mary, brothers John Francis and Patrick, and son-in-law Tom Brennan. Beloved mother of Mary, Father Gerald (MHM), John (Jack), Carmel, Michael (Mick), James (Jim), Pat, Catherine and Teresa. Deeply regretted by her brothers Jim and Michael, sisters Margaret, Sr. Regina (Sister of Mercy) and Breege, sister-in-law Eileen Doyle, daughters-in-law Pauline, Liz and Emma, sons-in-law Patsy, Robert and Gavin, adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
