Jack McHugh performing "I Could Do With You"
Kilkenny musician Jack McHugh has released a new music video for his single "I Could Do With You".
The video, which premiered earlier this week on McHugh’s YouTube channel, was funded by the Kilkenny Arts Office’s Arts Act Grant and brought together several local creatives.
McHugh collaborated with filmmaker Emily McGee, whom he first met while they were both trainees on the Channel 5 television series The Inheritance.

Their creative partnership developed further through the Cult Collective’s monthly Scratch Night at the Home Rule Club.
The video was filmed at Woodstock Gardens in Inistioge, a 'dream location', where the team received support from the venue’s staff.
They also gained access to the tea rooms on a day when they were closed to the public, a space McHugh said provided the “unique acoustics” that perfectly matched the opening line of his song:
“Some folks you meet for a coffee; keep it quick, talk quick, coffee goes cold.”

Renowned for his poetic lyricism and soulful vocals, McHugh's music transcends genres and weaves stories that resonate with the human experience.
Back in 2021, his song ‘I Still Get It’ became an anthem in local efforts to save the Smithwick’s Experience.
