Six-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny Eddie Keher celebrates his 83rd birthday today (Monday, October 14).
The Rower-Inistioge clubman still remains one of the most decorated inter-county players Kilkenny has produced, making him a recognisable face across the country.
Born in Inistioge, County Kilkenny, Keher first played competitive hurling whilst at school in St Kieran's College. His first senior championship appearance was in the 1959 All-Ireland final replay against Waterford - he also played in a minor All-Ireland final, against Tipperary, that year.
Keher went on to play a key part for Kilkenny over several seasons, captaining the Cats to All-Ireland victory in 1969, while also winning ten Leinster medals and three National Hurling League medals during a glittering career.
Happy Birthday Eddie!
