Kilkenny County Council has reached an agreement with the GAA and the Kilkenny County Board for the use of UPMC Nowlan Park as a Park and Stride facility.
The service allows people to park their vehicles at a designated location away from their destination and walk the remaining distance
The project will initially be ran on a pilot basis which is hoped to be in operation by September.

It is expected to allow cars to be parked in the parking facilities in the grounds, allowing people to make the short walk into the city centre with e-bikes also said to be being considered.
Senior Engineer with Kilkenny County Council, Stan Cullen, thanked the GAA and county board for their co-operation and collaboration on the project.
The announcement was received positively by city councillors.
Cllr Andrew McGuinness, commented it was 'great to see progress on the Park and Stride and Nowlan Park being used'.
Cllr David FitzGerald also commended the local authority in securing the offering and thanked the GAA for their role in making the project a reality.
