Thomastown's Naoise Dempsey kicks for goal

Thomastown made it two wins from two in Group B of the St Canice's Credit Union Senior Hurling League on Sunday, easing past Erin's Own 4-18 to 0-17.

Despite a positive start for the Castlecomer side, which saw them lead in periods early on, the flood gates  began to open by the midway mark of the first half and by half-time they trailed by nine points.

It was far from vintage from Noel Doherty's side, who will no doubt be eager to eradicate some erratic shooting when championship hurling arrives in the next few weeks. But, all in all, it was a good day at the office for last year's county champions who ended a 78 year run to win Kilkenny's top hurling prize in October. 

Among those to hit the net on the day was midfielder Naoise Dempsey, who dug out his footballing skills to beat Sean Buggy in the goal. - WATCH BELOW
