PICTURES: Kilkenny league/championships continue with top quality hurling on show

The St Canice's Credit Union Senior Hurling League and Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling League rolled in to week two last weekend, with games up and down the county. - SEE PICTURES BELOW BY WILLIE DEMPSEY AND BILLY CULLETON

Glenmore arguably took the biggest scalp, beating Shamrocks Ballyhale by a single point (2-21 to 2-20). Elsewhere, Tullaroan rallied to beat Clara in dramatic fashion, Thomastown and O'Loughlin Gaels coasted to victories over Erin's Own and Lisdowney respectively, while both Graigue Ballycallan and Mullinavat along with Dicksboro and Bennettsbridge produced two thrilling draws.

At intermediate, James Stephens made it two wins from two fighting off a determined Tullogher Rosbercon, St Lachtain's produced the shock of the weekend with a two point defeat of Young Irelands, Danesfort held out for a one goal victory over the Fenians (2-17 to 1-17) with the concession of large number of frees keeping the northerners in touch, the Rower Inistioge edged out Carrickshock by two points. Elsewhere, Mooncoin and Dunnamaggin recorded two comfortable wins over the Blacks & Whites and St Martins respectively.
