Departing Kilkenny manager Tommy Shefflin
Kilkenny Camogie have confirmed the departure of senior manager Tommy Shefflin who has stepped down from the position.
Shefflin was a selector during Brian Dowling's successful period as Kilkenny senior camogie manager which saw the Cats claim All Ireland titles in 2020 and 2022, while on the club front, the Shamrocks Ballyhale clubman was part of the Piltown managerial team during the 2024 season with the South Kilkenny club winning their first senior championship in their history.
Last season as manager, he guided the stripey women to Leinster championship success before bowing out to Tipperary in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
"Tommy has contributed greatly to Kilkenny Camogie, not only this season where he guided Kilkenny to another Leinster Championship title but as a selector for four years," a statement from Kilkenny Camogie said.
"We would sincerely like to thank Tommy for his commitment & unwavering dedication over this time. We would also like to acknowledge Tommy’s backroom team and thank them for their tireless work this year.
"We wish Tommy and his backroom well in their future endeavours," the statement added.
