Clara man Martin Meany, founder of the Dublin based technology news site Goos3D.ie, is hoping for further success as his firm is up for one of the coveted eir Spider awards.

The Best in Blogging title is in their sights. In it’s inaugural year last year, the Best in Blogging category was won by Rob Lipsett who some may know from TV reality show Love Island. “Clearly the eir Spiders were a great stepping stone for Rob last year” Meany states, “but should we bring home the gold, I don’t think you’ll see me bathing on Love Island any time soon”.
Founded nearly four years ago, Goos3D.ie is a one-stop shop for consumer technology news.
“There were a few technology sites in Ireland at the time,” says Meany, “but a lot of these were
more concerned with how many jobs Intel were bringing to the country rather than tech news for
everyday people”.
Goos3D.ie covers a range of consumer technology stories and regularly reviews products while
jargon busting their way through the latest tech, making it all more accessible to the general
public.
Meany believes, “it’s cool being shortlisted for awards, but I’ll never forget the gentleman who
asked for help with his Amazon Echo. He had bought it and it was sitting in the press. He got in
touch with us on Facebook and we got him up and running. He was so grateful and it really put
what we’re doing at Goos3D into perspective. We’re empowering people to adopt technology”.
Goos3D.ie has been shortlisted in the “Best in Blogging” category. This category was added last
year for the first time as a result of the growing demand for influencers to promote products.
“Bloggers tend to gather very loyal followers. We’ve definitely noticed that we have some core
followers and we respect them by remaining unbiased and honest with our reviews” said Meany.
“We’re always looking for new and fun ways to interact with our readers. If you’ve got an
Amazon Echo, you can listen to the latest headlines on that or chat with our Facebook
Messenger chatbot to find some articles you like”.

The eir Spiders take place in Dublin’s Mansion House on November 30 2017.
