Breda Gardner opens the Thomastown Community Helpers
A great community venture was officially opened earlier today in Thomastown.
The Thomastown Community Helpers is a wonderful non profit organisation which aims to help anybody who needs help.
Cllr Breda Gardner officially opened the premises at Logan Street.
"I am delighted to open the premises - it is great that ventures like this exist. Anyone can be affected by poverty or homelessness and ventures like this help people get back on their feet. It also promotes recycling and upcycling which we all need to be more environmentally aware," she added.
Mayor of Kilkenny, Peter Chap Cleere congratulated those involved saying that it was 'community volunteerism at its best'.
