The Elves and the Shoemakers Show

Barnstorm presents their Kilkenny Christmas family show - The Elves and the Shoemakers

Barnstorm is delighted to present a captivating production of their Christmas show, The Elves and the Shoemakers in the enchanted surroundings of the boot factory Padmore and Barnes of Kilkenny from November 30 to December 17.

“Shoes, shoes, shimmering shoes
You’ll jump at the chances for parties and dances
So just put your feet up and give a big hand
For the best pair of shoemakers here in the land”

This is a short and caring story about a Christmas gift and based on one of the very few traditional fairy tales with a Christmas theme. Based on the Grimms' fairytale The Elves and the Shoemakers is for children aged 4-9 years and tells the tale of
two kind elves who help two penniless shoemakers out of their troubles and back on their feet. Based on the Grimms’ fairytale, Mike Kenny’s play gently explores themes of generosity and greed in the days leading up to Christmas.

The show is presented to small groups of children in the intimate surroundings of the Shoemakers’ Shop and a wonderful introduction to theatre.
