Seating on the Castle Road, Kilkenny City
More seating stop-gaps are needed throughout the city for people with limited mobility, according to Cllr Maria Dollard.
Cllr Dollard, speaking at a recent meeting of city councillors, welcomed the introduction of new intermittent seating at Newpark Fen and cited the Castle Road in Kilkenny City as an area where the provision of intermittent seating has had a positive impact.
She told council officials of the importance of seating rest stops for particular groups, and stated that having more of them would allow for more people to explore the city.
Cllr Eugene McGuinness also praised the additional seating at Newpark Fen, describing it as an 'amazing job'.
"It makes a huge difference, especially to the elderly who go down there," he said.
