Former Kilkenny politician recognised for long-standing service

The Kilkenny District of the Fine Gael party honoured former councillor and mayor of the city, Martin Brett for his long service to Kilkenny and the party at a function in the Orchard House.

Mr Brett was elected as Mayor of Kilkenny on five separate occasions and has been involved in local politics for over 30 years.

The former Fine Gael councillor lost his council seat in last year's local elections after re-earning his seat in 2019.
