Kilkenny GAA supporters left bemused as robot interrupts senior club game

Fans were left bemused and confused momentarily in Piltown last weekend as Glenmore and Graigue Ballycallan played out their final round match in Group A of the St Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling League.
Glenmore were one point winners, setting up a first round championship clash with Dicksboro, while Graigue Ballycallan qualified for the quarter finals and a shield final, finishing in second place in the group.
However, away from the blood and thunder of the match itself, there was a brief moment of relief as a robot invaded the field.
The robot, commonly used for pitch maintenance works, decided to make a short unscheduled substitute appearance, only to be removed by a selector within seconds.
“A robot,” the Clubber commentators laughed.
“A fine little robot they have there,” one of the men behind the mic joked.
