The winning John Lockes team
John Lockes LGFA won their first-ever county junior title at the James Stephens GAA & Camogie Club grounds on Kells Road at the weekend.
Facing the very strong Kilkenny City side, the Lockes team trailed 2-4 to 1-1 at the break. However, just after half-time, the Lockes team scored two goals to level the match.

The Callan team went on to dominate the second half, scoring five goals in total to win the match 6-1 to 2-4. This was an outstanding display from this young team and with some of the girls part of the defeated junior camogie team two weeks ago this county title will certainly make up for the disappointment of that final.
The county junior title topped off the ladies' football club's most successful year as the club won competitive competitions in every age group, from U12s to adults.
