Safety scheme works continue at pace in Kilkenny

Nightworks on the bridge structure on the N24

Works are continuing to progress at pace on the N24 Tower Road safety scheme in South Kilkenny.

According to the latest update, bridge works are ongoing with earthworks substantially complete site-wide.

Some top soiling work is also continuing in verges and on embankments.

Works at the tie-ins of the Tower Road and the Ink Bottle are well advanced and blacktop works are ongoing site-wide.

Scheme drainage has been substantially completed and accommodation works are ongoing.

The proposed scheme will entail the modification of two local road junctions on the N24 national primary road and the provision of a new 14m wide x 0.75km long link road between the Ink Bottle and Piltown Tower which will connect with a new roundabout northwest of Piltown Tower.

A new junction onto the N24 will be provided via a link road and a new overbridge to the southwest of the tower.
