Gardaí issue appeal for dashcam footage after fatal midlands road crash

Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the M9 northbound or southbound in Kilkenny yesterday evening between 7pm and 8pm and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) to contact them following a serious collision.

The collision, which involved two vehicles, occurred between Junction 8 and Junction 9 Southbound.

The male driver (30s) and male passenger (30s) of one car were taken to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries. Both men are understood to be in a critical condition.

The male driver (20s) of the second car is also receiving medical treatment for serious injuries at University Hospital Waterford.

The M9 remains closed this morning between Junction 8 (Kilkenny) and Junction 9 (Kilkenny South) Southbound. A technical examination of the scene will be conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
