Kilkenny gardaí are asking drivers to be mindful of weather conditions while driving this autumn.
Posting to social media, a garda spokesperson said: "The changing seasons bring in fresh challenges to motorists. One of them at the moment especially is the large amount of leaves that have recently fallen."

"A vehicle's only contact with the road is through its tyres. There is no contact when another material is sandwiched, like fallen leaves. This will affect braking, steering and of course traction. Consequences may be severe," the post added.
"Turn over a new leaf behind the wheel, always drive making allowances for conditions."
