Bishop Niall Coll has urged Kilkenny parishes to revive the practice of having altar servers at weekend masses with efforts set to be made to encourage boys and girls to serve at mass.

Safeguarding of children regulations would have to be strictly adhered to.

Elsewhere, many parishioners in the Tullahought community have been left without access to Sunday Mass streams over the past month due to poor broadband coverage.
