Safety measures to improve both driver and pedestrian safety have been installed in several areas across the county.
A Low Cost Safety Project in Stoneyford has recently been constructed, and is almost complete.
Driver feedback signs have been erected. There are also now improved sightlines, raised ramps and wider footpaths.
Railings at the junction will be the last feature to be installed.
Councillor Deirdre Cullen said this work is going to make a huge difference to the area and she asked Area Engineer Declan Murphy to also keep note of a plan to reduce the speed limit on the road at the local school.
In Callan a Low Cost Safety Scheme is planned for the Bolton Woods/ Clonmel Road junction. This was due to be in place at the end of the year, however due to the unavailability of contractors this work will now take place in the new year.
A driver feedback sign has also been erected on the road passing the entrance to Castlemorris Woods, to warn oncoming motorists of pedestrians crossing the road.
