Local councillor's advice to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are being urged to be careful on the roads now that hedge cutting has begun.

Cllr Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere said it was great that landowners were getting out to cut roadside hedges but appealed for people to be careful and mindful on the roads.

A ‘tsunami’ of work has been carried out on the roads of the Callan Thomastown district over the summer months, according to Cllr Cleere.

District chairperson, Cllr Cleere, described the huge amount of work carried out by area engineer Declan Murphy, and the local road crews, as a ‘tsunami.’ He thanked them for their efforts and said it was brilliant to see the amount of work being done.
