A GAA player is in an induced coma after suffering an alleged assault.
Charlie Brown, a senior player for Clonduff GAC in Co Down and Ulster University GAA, is in intensive care after suffering from the alleged incident.
The clubs have asked the public to "please pray" for the young man.
In a post shared on Facebook, the club said: "Please pray for our Senior Footballer Charlie Brown, who is currently in intensive care. We are keeping Charlie, the Brown & Linden Families, his teammates and friends in our prayers at this very worrying time.
"Wishing Charlie a full and speedy recovery - you’ve got this Charlie."
Ulster University GAA also shared a message for their player and friend.
"Ulster University GAA is asking for your thoughts and prayers for Charlie Brown and for all his family at this very worrying time. Charlie remains in intensive care in an induced coma after an assault. We pray that Charlie makes a full and speedy recovery," said the club.
This comes after the Clonduff GAC club mourned the loss of one of their players, Lorcan Branagan, who died in a tragic accident in Sydney.
