A flight from Dublin to London was delayed almost 3 hours this Friday after an incident on the runway.

According to Shaun's Aviation on X, fight BA831 struck a set of stairs during pushback for Heathrow Airport.

Following the strike, Dublin Airport Fire Service responded alongside engineers to inspect the aircraft for damage.

Shaun wrote: "Minimal damage was found on the wingtip of the aircraft, and after a 2 hour 40 minute delay, it was cleared to continue its flight to Heathrow Airport.

"A video posted to TikTok by Aviation.2.0 shows the scene as Engineers and Firefighters inspect the aircraft.

"ATC archives showed the pilots calls to ATC, they originally thought the stairs were in the way, until they were informed by ground crews that they struck the steps."
