'Literally put a sock in it!'- NCT centre gobsmacked by customers DIY cover-up fail

NCT Ireland has shared a video of a tester pulling a sock out of a vehicles door in a recent DIY job fail.

The sock was shoved into a car door sill and filled with silicone to hide corrosion underneath. It ultimately failed the NCT test and the test centre shared the video to their social media to warn other drivers to get the job done properly.

Their Facebook post said: "This customer literally put a sock in it! Instead of fixing the corrosion properly, this customer stuffed a sock into the door sill and filled it with silicone to hide the corrosion.

"Just goes to show—quick cover-ups can end up costing a lot more in the long run. Always better to do the job properly the first time".
