' A proud day for the whole school community' - reaction from Kilkenny schools as students collect Leaving Cert results

Scoil Aireagail in Ballyhale and Duiske College in Graignamanagh welcomed students back for the occasion

Students and parents celebrate at Duiske College

Over 1,000 students in Kilkenny today have received their Leaving Certificate results, in some cases returning to their former schools to collected them in-person and chat to the teachers and principals who have helped them over the years.

At Scoil Aireagail in Ballyhale, Principal Helen McTighe said it was a very special day.

"I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to our students on receiving their Leaving Certificate results. We are immensely proud of each and every one of them," she said.

"Of course, the Leaving Certificate is just one part of a much bigger journey, and there are many different pathways open to success. What matters most is the people our students have become – hardworking, kind, and determined young adults who will go on to make a difference in their communities. We will continue to support them as they take their next steps, wherever those may lead.

"I also want to acknowledge the unwavering support our students have received from their families and from the staff here in Scoil Aireagail. Today is a proud day for the whole school community, and we look forward to seeing the bright futures that lie ahead for the Class of 2025."

Meanwhile,at Duiske College, students and parents joined teachers in school for a cup of tea to celebrate the important milestone. Principal Georgina Murphy paid tribute to them on a great set of results.
"Another successful year of Leaving Cert results – a testament to hard work, resilience, and determination," she said. "Our students are now ready to spread their wings and soar, with bright futures ahead and strong results behind them."
