Kilkenny golf: be safe, observe procedures in place

In the interest of players safety the following procedure will apply when playing the 15th and 16th holes at Kilkneny golf club:
A - gents, having played their tee shots on the 15th, should remain on the 15th tee box until the bell rings on the 16th men's tee box.
B - there is a new shelter being erected at the ladies 16th tee. Ladies should remain in the shelters on both 15th or 16th tees if there are gents teeing off either the 15th or 16th tee box and remain in the shelter until the gents have finished teeing off.
Members have been reminded that courtesy and common sense should ensure the safety of all players. Appropriate signs will be in place on both tee boxes shortly.
SUBS: Following the severe weather it has been decided to extend the final day for payment of club membership fees to this week-end, Friday, March 9.
CLEAN-UP - It is planned to do a clean up at the same time as the hollow-coring, which is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, March 12 and 13. Members have been requested to assist in this clean-up.

SATURDAY CROSSCARD: The final Saturday Crossscard of the season is scheduled for Saturday, March 10. Following the golf there will be finger food available. Entry, including food, will be €8.
The crosscard season will re-commence on Saturday, October 20.
PATRICK'S WEEKEND: Bookings for the four person team event, sponsored by Paddy Raggett Homes, on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 and 18 goes live tomro Friday (5.30pm).
The ladies and gent’s Open singles on Monday, March 19 will also be available for booking.
PING FITTING: The Ping fitting day has been fixed for Monday, April 16. The cost of the 30 minute session is €30. Interested members should reserve their place by contacting the Pro Shop (056 776 1730).
The 2018 Odyssey Putter range is now in stock and also includes a large selection of left handed putters. There is up to 50% off all ladies clothing in the Pro Shop.
There is a large selection of Ping putters available with a 25% discount.
LADIES CLUB: The managers of the various ILG teams for 2018 have been announced:
Senior Cup - Mags Cuddihy and Mary Norton.
Junior Cup - Joan Cody and Breda Roche.
Intermediate Cup - Margaret McCreery and Mary Browne.
Minor Cup - Stella Coughlan and Sandra Barratt.
Challenge Cup - Joan Cashin and Anne Murphy.
Senior foursomes - Eithne Murphy and Liz Cleere.
Junior foursomes - Paula Bradbury and Anne Greaney.
Revive Active fourball - Margaret Kiely and Catherine Griffin.
The draw sheet for the ILGU competitions are posted on the notice board in the ladies locker room, plus additional information for team managers.
Competitions this week and next will be nine and 13 holes.
The draw for the Round Robin has been made and is now on the notice board. Participants are requested to adhere to the time frame set out as all matches need to be completed by Wednesday, April 11.
The final round of the ladies Saturday Crosscard will be played this Saturday.

The ladies competition scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled due to the bad weather.

SNOOKER: There are still a number of last 16 round matches to be finalised. Those involved are requested to play because the quarter-finals are scheduled to be completed by March 21.
