An advance notice has been issued by Kilkenny County Council

Kilkenny road to close for days to facilitate 'essential' works

Kilkenny County Council have given notice of their intention to close to traffic a public road within the Piltown Municipal District to facilitate essential track renewal works being undertaken by Irish Rail.

The road in question is L7429 at level crossing XL184 in Ballincurra, Mooncoin.

The alternative route is via L7429 Arderra, Kilcraggan and L7428 Ballincurra.

The proposed duration of closure is from Thursday, January 15 at 8pm until Sunday, January 18, at 6am.

Alternative routes will be signposted.

Any person objecting to the proposed temporary closure of these roads may lodge their objection in writing to the local authority not later than 5pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
