Next week's weather forecast remains uncertain as temperatures reach the 20s, with rain and unseasonable conditions threatening to affect the country.
Meteorologist Carlow Weather stated there is "uncertainty on weather models around the low on Monday night into Tuesday." The statement added, "Some have it catching the East of Ireland with heavy rain, but others keep it away from Ireland."
Meanwhile, Met Éireann reported showers and drizzle at the start of the week, progressing to heavier and colder conditions as the week goes on.
Today: A mostly cloudy start today, with sunny spells and scattered showers developing. Some slow-moving heavy and possibly thundery downpours will develop in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in a light west to northwest or variable breeze.
Tonight: Showers will become isolated and will gradually die out early on in the night, leaving a mostly dry night with clear spells and a few mist patches. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees in light northerly or variable breezes.
Tomorrow: Tomorrow will start out mainly dry with sunny spells. Scattered showers will break out as the day goes on and cloud will build from the south over Munster and parts of Leinster through the afternoon with patchy rain and drizzle developing from the south coast by late afternoon. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light easterly breezes.
Monday night: Mainly dry in the north and west at first on Monday night with clear spells, but cloudier conditions further south with outbreaks of rain and drizzle gradually spreading further north overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees with light northeast or variable breezes.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the east, with the best of any drier and brighter intervals in coastal fringes of the west and north. Highs of 16 to 20 degrees in a light to moderate northerly breeze.
Tuesday night: Rain will push northwards with outbreaks of rain in the east and north, and clear spells elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh northwest winds.
Wednesday: A mostly cloudy and damp day in the east and north on Wednesday, with brighter, sunnier intervals elsewhere. Highs of 15 to 20 degrees with mostly moderate northwest winds, fresh to strong along west and southwest coasts.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy in northern and eastern parts with rain or showers tracking southwards, becoming lighter through the day. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees with moderate to fresh northwest winds.
